Thais didn’t pay much attention to Bethen’s rising anger. What a bookish girl, Thais thought to herself in the back of her mind. The young mage really was answering Thais’ words point by point. The woman was vaguely reminded of debates at the tower. She hadn’t even meant what she said, she would never write to the First Enchanter on such a trivial matter… even if it felt like an important one at the moment.
She was about to step away from Constans when no response came from the young man. Something in her soul ached at the silence from him. She didn’t have the chance to remove her hands, however, before Bethen suddenly was there. Thais’ eyes widened. She reacted swiftly, moving the wrist out of reach right before Beth was able to grab on. Bringing her hand behind her, she didn’t even pause before bringing the back of her hand towards Beth’s face. A sharp glare had appeared on her features, “What do you think you are doing?!” She shouted at the younger mage. With her other hand, she pulled her staff away from Constans.
