Thais did not notice the lurking female mages in the courtyard. She was too interested in the tranquil in front of her. Her attention stayed on him. Though she was having trouble keeping her gaze on his face instead of lingering on the muscular chest.
She raised an eyebrow at Constans. He seemed to be thinking… but she wasn’t entirely sure if he was truly thinking or if it was just that tranquil expression. When Constans looked away to stare at his feet, Thais couldn’t help but smirk. Was he… having some sort of bashful tranquil moment? She couldn’t be sure. The woman loosened her grip on her staff.
She shook her head at his comment, “Of course not! Soot is terrible for the skin.” The Enchanter stepped closer, the distance between the two quickly disappearing as she walked up to him. She glanced at the bucket of water dangling at the top of the well before smiling at Constans, “Here, let me help you.” The woman reached over, taking hold of the bucket. She pulled it over to the edge of the well and let it rest. Thais gestured for Constans to let go of the rope. Once he had, she gently shoved her staff into his hands, “Hold this.”
The woman reached into the sleeve of her robes, her hand disappearing amongst the fabric for a few seconds before she pulled out a medium-sized cloth. It was a plain cotton handkerchief. She dipped it into the bucket of water. Squeezing out excess water, she smiled at Constans, “Now just hold still. I’ll get the spots that you won’t be able to reach.” The woman walked around Constans, placing the damp cloth on the young man’s back, right between the shoulder blades. She slowly began to rub away the soot, an amused expression upon her features. Thais wondered what Constans was thinking… or if he was thinking at all. The woman softly gnawed at her lower lip as she watched the soot disappear, revealing Constans skin underneath.
