He was fast for a shield-wielder, she had to give him that. Perhaps it was the light armor, perhaps it was simple experience. With her claymore, she could have reach on him, though she needed to be closer to find an opening, or to hit harder. For the moment she allowed his block to push her away, whirling around quickly to bring her sword up.
And good she did, for this time he followed through with an attack, first swinging the shield, which she caught easily with the wide blade of her weapon. Her eyes caught the glint of metal from his sword as he raised it behind him to strike, and she shoved back hard against his shield strike, before falling back suddenly, giving way so that any weight that might have been pressing against her sword from his shield was now sent off balance.
