"It is quite large. And this isn't near half of it. Beyond Ferelden other land lies to the north and they say there's even more across the ocean, but no one has been there for a very, very long time..."
She tilted her head slightly, looking down at the girl. "I guess you don't need to know those things, true. But knowing them doesn't hurt any either, if you are curious." She smiled again. "However, you're right that some things are more important than others... like how to survive out here in this big world. You have to learn which berries are poisonous and which are safe to eat, and how to set a simple trap to catch game if you're not too handy with a bow. For now, Cormac can provide for you though. And once we get to Amaranthine they'll have everything you need."
She gazed down at the water again, thoughtful. The girl was young, but she was tough stuff. She'd obviously grown up in a different environment from the other two. She took things in more easily, accepted things easier, and put her trust in a grumpy man and his dog. At least the man had his heart in the right place, even if he was gruff and constantly picking fights for no reason.
"It's peaceful. And I'm sure he does. Maybe family too. He said he grew up here. Can't be a kid all alone."
