Just for fun, while Falina grabbed hold of his finger, he tried to keep wagging it. He let it go still when she brought it to her lips, smiling along contently. It all stopped abruptly when she told him to go on, and he scowled plainly.

Without another word, he took the Anthology and tucked it under his elbow, and then swooped down to grab up the rest of the books she hadn't yet picked up. He hoisted them high and balanced them atop his shoulder to spread their weight, all the while giving her an exaggerated Look down his nose.
"By your leave, madame." He turned to go to the shelves, but just before he did, spared her a tell-tale teasing grin. She'd just have to learn that from here on out, she wasn't going to be doing things alone anymore.
