"Mm!" Rhocanth hummed in his throat, now completely overcome by surprise. He tripped on his own feet a little, having to step forward and lean down a bit to make up the height difference. As she tipped her head back and put her hand to his cheek they matched a little better, and he could not help but bring up his hand to tangle in the back of her hair. It was soft, liquid through his fingers, alluring. He could feel her nervousness through the feathery-light way their lips touched, trying not to tremble himself for the sheer caprice of it. What was she doing? They barely knew one another. Was this why she had been so quiet and dismissive?
Nevermind that now. The details were rapidly fading in importance as the moment grew. His free arm shadowed around her, pressing his palm into the stone behind her. His kiss grew more confident, to gently guide her, let them each savor it, before breaking away like a delicate bubble snapping. He stayed close to her, her breath on his cheek, only gradually opening his eyes to watch her.
