Rhocanth made for a rueful expression, something that was perhaps meant to be masked as a smile, in the manner that nobles always smile politely at one another when they want to cry or kill each other. His expressions tended to drift toward that end, unless he was very comfortable with the company and conversation, or was particularly moved.
"Well... no. Not me," he said at last, rubbing his fingers over his mouth and chin awkwardly. "It's a difficult balance. If one is in charge of everything, the element of surprise is removed from life. One has everything one wants... but not a bit more than that. You cannot invent anything outside of your own realm of possibilities. Like, perhaps a few weeks ago none of us imagined we would know what the sky looked like."
He shrugged awkwardly, attempting to keep his answer detached and impersonal. He couldn't possibly lie to her, but he didn't want to give her more than she went asking for, either.
