"I'm sure there are great many things the humans would love to investigate about the elves, especially the Chantry, at least in regards to whatever magic they might have. But it seems that for the most part they leave the Dalish alone." They were walking along easily now, kicking up mud in their wake. She found herself contemplating the top of Signy's head as the girl fell into a long silence. Perhaps she was lost in thought... perhaps something she'd said had triggered a memory.
Imenry remembered her own first days in a strange new world, far away from home, surrounded by the unfamiliar, the way fear had crept up on her, how she'd been alone, horribly alone and vulnerable. And for months afterward the memories of home and family had dogged her, the memories of their deaths, the bright splash of blood in the white snow. How she'd tried to escape those memories in distance. Time might have dulled them, but instead she'd buried them.
She wondered what memories Signy had, if they were bad or good memories, if she thought of her family, of loved ones. What had even happened to Signy before she'd come to the surface? She'd heard the girl utter the word exiled when meeting the Warden Commander. Imenry knew that meant to be cast out. Would her own people truly throw her away in such a manner? Why.
"You're quiet all the sudden. Something on your mind? If you need someone to talk to... I can do more than just answer questions." She offered the girl an encouraging smile.
