"Well yes, it's alive in that sense. But the stories also tell of trees getting up and walking about, attacking travelers..." She shrugged her shoulders. "I think it's nonsense really." She smiled down at Signy gently.
"As for what we'll see in there, you really never know. I've never traveled through these forests myself. Just near the edges like I said. I don't know that we'll see any Dalish. They tend to keep to themselves, and prefer to avoid humans. Some of them leave their clans for whatever reason. I've met one before and she was a strange woman, but good, and a capable fighter. However, many humans look down on elves in general, as a lesser species. I don't really know what the opinion of the others in this caravan are."
"Bears or wolves..." she mused, a thoughtful look on her face. "It depends on how hungry they are really. They're unlikely to attack a group this big, and if they're foolish enough to do so, they'll certainly be killed. I don't know how common or rare they are. I'm sure the forest is rife with food sources for them, so they likely don't have a population problem. And aside from the clans, no one really lives here, so they aren't hunted to extinction."
