"The flat..." Imenry's voice trailed off with her momentary confusion as she followed the line of Signy's tiny pointed finger, her gaze sweeping over the lush canopy of green that stretched out ahead of them, still a bit away, beyond the rising slope of the hilly road.
"Oh. That's the Brecilian Forest. It's just a whole bunch of trees clustered together, so from far away I guess it does sort of look like a green mountain." She looked down at Signy briefly, but elaborated. The girl was curious about everything, and wanting to know more was always a good thing, better than remaining ignorant. "I haven't been deep into the forest myself, but camped near the edges a few times. Mostly the only people who live there are the different elven clans, the Dalish. There's also plenty of wildlife; bears and wolves. There are even rumors that the forest is cursed by magic somehow, but I don't know whether that's true or just an old story."
She continued to walk as she spoke, her eyes drifting over the forest in the distance, then sweeping the rest of their band of travelers. She spied one of the Mabari, probably Noa, up ahead trotting alongside a horse. Everyone seemed relaxed, chatting amongst the group as they kept a steady pace.
It was true that some of the others weren't used to traveling though, and the weariness showed in them, especially at night when camp was made. Some weren't even fit to stand a round of watch. Imenry often volunteered to take an extra shift if needed. She was used to this way of life and had learned long ago that it was important to always be alert.
