Thais rolled her shoulders, the staff at her back shifting with the movement. Her eyes widened when the tall woman spoke. What was wrong with her voice? Was that suppose to be some sort of accent. Thais stared in light shock. She didn’t hear accents very often. While they weren’t non-existent in the tower, they were rare and most of the mages that came from foreign lands had very light accents. The rush of questions that had entered her thoughts made her not even attempt to understand what had just been said. She watched as the woman made a gesture to follow however. The body language hinted that the woman had agreed to show Thais to her quarters.
Sighing, Thais glanced at the men before nodding towards Hilda. She followed without much question. Her gaze continued to survey the woman with interest. Hilda was quite tall. Thais supposed that meant the woman would have great strength as well. She couldn’t help but think of one of her favorite storybooks about tall warrior women. Thais held her hands at her sides, the tips of her fingers running anxiously along her thumb. Now and then, her gaze would glimpse at the templars. Even though Ser Maddock had left the younger men in charge, it seemed the mages were already spread out over the grounds. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth in thought before bringing her attention back to Hilda.
“My name is Enchanter Keigwin.” She greeted the woman, her tone slower than normal. Thais wasn’t sure if the heavy accent meant that the woman had trouble understanding the common language. She gave enough pause to allow the woman to understand before continuing, “How do the bathing facilities work here?”
