Her feet were tense. Each step triggered a new cramp to run through her calves. She was not use to walking for so long on such uneven ground. Thais found herself mentally cursing nature through most of the trip. She had tripped more than once and all of her robes eventually became muddy. At the moment, the woman wore her cleanest robe which was still damp from an attempt to wash it. The bottom edge of the skirt had grass and dirt stuck to it. She found herself longing to be inside a building where she wouldn’t have to deal with realities such as dirt.
Despite her weariness from the travel, Thais kept herself composed. Her stance was one that would be expected of a high-ranking circle mage even if her attire was worn. The fairly impressive staff on her back quite possible distracted from the wrinkled fabric of her robes. Thais ignored the bustling town that they traveled through. She kept her gaze on the Keep, not letting her concentration wander. The woman was set to get to the Keep and change out of her clothes as quickly as possible.
Once the group reached the gates of Virgil’s Keep, Thais glanced at the large men standing. Her gaze lingered. She searched her memory. The woman assumed such skin color and size could only belong to Qunari. She had never seen one before and it was possible the two were just oddly tanned humans that happened to be big, but she doubted it.
Glimpsing at the human bystanders as they continued on, she couldn’t help but think they looked like the warriors from childhood storybooks. Her gaze did not stay long on the bystanders however, bringing her attention back to the party. They had stopped to settle the horses and unload. She tucked a couple of loose curls back into her drawn hood. The woman kept her face fairly hidden from those positioned on the sides. She refused to lower her hood. Her hair was being rather difficult from the trip and had puffed out in a frizzy manner. She did not want to reveal it until she got a proper bath and combed it out.
Thais crossed her arms over her chest, watching as Ser Maddock began to converse with a woman. She surveyed the woman with interest. A mage with armor? A small smile appeared on her lips. It was a nice sight to see a mage that looked just as physically powerful next to a templar. From the looks of it, the woman also seemed to have an upper hand in the conversation. Once the woman began talking to the party, Thais focused on listening. The name Mona Seward ringed some old memories of talks with Senior Enchanters.
Once the short introduction finished, Thais glanced away towards the rest of the party members. She noticed many seemed interested in the world around them instead of getting settled in. The woman looked away from the gates where Ashya had already stuck herself staring at the Qunari. Thais simply wanted to take a bath and clean her robes, but she wasn’t entirely sure who to talk to. She didn’t want a tour. Weighing her options, she decided it would be most helpful to go to those that Mona had designated as tour guides anyways. One of them must be able to assist. Pulling her hood a bit farther up to try and make sure most of her frizzy hair was hidden, she walked up to the two men and the tall woman. She tried to keep her expression soft, but weariness was clear in the circles under her eyes, “Can one of you show me to my quarters?” She kept her gaze mainly on the tall woman, only glancing at the men.
