She was still looking over her shoulder when Aurin called for her attention, and it wasn't until his shadow fell over her that she stopped to look up. At six-foot-two, Aurin towered over most men she knew, and she herself was no exception. She gave him a small smile, rocking back on her heels -- the odd habit only served to make her appear younger than her short, twenty-three years in this world, but she couldn't help it. The exasperated look on him only caused her to smile, her brows lifting slightly when he stopped on his approach. She pulled out a small sugar cube from her pocket, and offered it to his tired horse, another hand resting on the muzzle as the animal lipped toothlessly on her palm.
"Did you see the Qunari loitering around outside?" she asked in lieu of a proper greeting, nodding towards the gates. "It's odd to see them this far south, I wonder what they're doing here. If they're Grey Warden candidates, they'd be inside by now."
She glanced at her pack, her coil of rope, her crossbow and climbing hooks along with the pile of Aurin's belongings tethered to the back of his mare. "Actually I'm not sure. I'm assuming they'll be assigning us rooms. But I'll unload my things from her now, thanks for giving me the space." She flashed him a winning smile, the pearl-line of her teeth visible from behind parted lips. Watching him admire the masonry, she tipped her head to the looming shadow of the Keep's main complex. "Impressive, eh? It's the newest fortress built on Fereldan soil."
Deidre maneuvered to the side of the horse, undoing the rope and assisting Aurin with his belongings as well should he want it. "I have to admit, it was odd seeing you with a huge group. Whenever I see you, it's normally just you, or a partner. It's good to see you, I'm just sorry we didn't have much time to talk on the way here. It would've been wonderful to catch up with you and Rick, but there'll be plenty enough time for that later, hopefully. I haven't seen you since Kal-Sharok."
