Hearing the chuckling from behind her Seda cursed and spun around in time to see a giant come crashing to his knees with a roar. Eye to eye with the man she watched as he crumpled backwards, glaring up at her he swung his uninjured leg at her. Jumping over his leg she stomped on his groin and slammed a dagger into his exposed throat.
Behind her she could hear the sound of a body hitting the ground. Murmuring of outrage filled the air. Peering over her shoulder she could see one of the mercenaries, axe in throat, dead on the ground. Ripping her dagger from the man beneath her Seda looked up to see a new man approaching, presumably the one who threw the axes.
It was difficult to make out his features through the rain but his armor was of better make than the men she was fighting wore. He came forward, taunting his opponents and drawing his sword in one breath. As he drew closer Seda stood and slowly adjusted her position so she could have an eye on both this strange newcomer and her previous opponents. He might be her enemies’ enemy but that didn’t mean he was her friend.
Head twitching to the left she gripped her daggers as one of the mercenaries let out a bellow and charged at the new warrior, his comrades not far behind him. Sighing she shook her head, what was she some sort of chopped liver?
Well if they were going to ignore her it would be their funeral. As the mercenaries converged on her partner she slipped up behind the nearest man and thrust a blade into his back. The man jerked and threw an elbow back to hit her. Jumping away she twirled her daggers and looked at him. He was still capable of fighting but hurting, this shouldn’t take long.
His sword was flying through the air hoping to cleave her head from her shoulders. The swing was messy and she easily caught his blade between her own. Sparks flew as the metal scraped against each other. Gritting her teeth she locked her gaze with his and pulled her leg back. A swift kick to his midsection had him tumbling backwards, rolling in the slick mud.
Watching him struggle to his feet she walked slowly over to him. The moment he made it to his knees she kicked out again, catching him in the chin and throwing him back to the ground. Lying face down in the mud he tried to push himself up. Looking behind him she was prepared to plunge a dagger into his back only to spin around in surprise, running at her great-axe swinging was another mercenary.
Axe swinging wildly through the air she easily evaded it by sidestepping. Glancing in the direction he had just come from she could make out her temporary ally with his back to her, sword cutting through the air as he fought down his adversaries. Turning to face her own opponent she could see the her earlier enemy climbing up to his feet again. Well damn this was annoying the stupid bastard should have just stayed down. Eying the two men in distaste she gestured with one dagger. Let them come.
