Gritting her teeth for a moment in outrage (she was worth far more than a handful of coppers and she most certainly was not stripping) she took in a deep breath and held it before slowly breathing out. Rubbing at her shivering arms as discreetly as possible she pointedly looked away from him before a frown marred her face. In an effort to appear unbothered she turned back to face him, letting him see how annoyed she was would probably only please the man.
Catching him shivering she did her best to ignore it as well as the shudders raking her own body (after all if they weren’t shivering then they were not really cold and therefore had no reason to undress) she focused on staying awake, she could already feel her eyelids drooping. Pinching at her leg Seda tossed her head trying to clear the cloudy thoughts from her mind; it would be dangerous to fall asleep now, she might never wake up. Twisting her fingers once more she cringed and jerked up, cursing under her breath, at the pain shot up her thigh, still the pain was better than the numbness that was starting to creep in.
Managing to rouse herself from the pull of sleep for now the elf slumped back down against Aurin, replaying the past few minutes of conversation, looking for something he had said that she could latch onto, something that would keep her talking… keep her awake. Eyes widening as one of his earlier comments finally registered her whole body twisted around as she snapped her head to look at him directly.
Staring at him, half in shock, she gazed over him as if searching for some mark that proclaimed what he had said was true. “You, you were…” You were sold? You were a slave? … You were freed? Biting at her lip she had to look away from him lest he see the sympathy plastered across her face. She didn’t want to pity him, he was an annoying bastard who went around following people and abducting them… and he had been enslaved.
Choking down the knot in her throat, hands fisted at her sides Seda did her best to appear smarmy, lips widening in a lackluster grin, even as her voice quaked with restrained rage and pity. “You were carrying another elf? I hadn’t noticed. Maybe if you didn’t go around picking up people and abducting them you would have been able to run faster.”
Pausing when the trembling of her body became more pronounced and her teeth started to chatter the elf started to pull at the ties of her sodden boots. She might not want to admit it aloud by the jerk had a point about getting out of their wet clothing, they were only doing themselves harm by remaining in it. Trying to keep her fingers steady she stubbornly unlaced her boots as quickly as possible, swearing that as soon as she got to the next town she was buying a pair that didn’t require lacing, and wrenching the stiff leather from her feet when the ties were loose enough.
Half-heartedly kicking her shoes away she set to work on the other buckles and straps that were keeping everything on her securely. Head lolling to the side she tried to see if Aurin was making any progress with his own armor, sighing when she didn’t see any differences in his attire, and blinking when she finally noticed the blanket he had pulled from his pack. Henrik would be ashamed, she was so far gone that she wasn’t even noticing what was happening around her anymore. “I am warning you now that I draw the line at removing your clothing. I am not undressing you so if you don’t want to freeze in your bucket suit you should probably get to work.”
Spinning around she started prying off bit of her own armor, carelessly tossing the leather to the ground as she tried to finish as quickly as possible. Humming in an effort to fill up the awkward silence as she shucked her freezing clothing from her body, she tried to ignore the fact that a strange man was undressing behind her, finally calling out to him when her humming failed to distract her. “Why were you out there anyways? You know what I was doing but it seems to me that a lone Templar such as yourself wouldn’t be wandering through the wilderness. Of course I could be wrong but it we are a bit off the beaten path, barely anyone travels this way… which is of course why we chose it. Still… it just seemed strange is all, not normal.”
