Coan Bryland ; the ferelden noble (coan) wrote in thedas,
Waving a bit with a smile as she peered down at him, Coan signaled for Noa to sit beside him. She had a habit of jumping at things dangling above her - which was probably his fault. He was a tree climber, and he often teased her with dangling legs of his own. He didn't want to make the mage nervous - he wasn't exactly sure if Noa cared if they were his legs or not, or that she had climbed a bookcase and not a tree, so better safe than sorry. "I didn't mean to frighten you," he apologized, unconsciously moving near the ladder as she climbed down, in case she slipped and needed a hand.
"I hope I didn't interrupt your sight seeing," he apologized as she finally touched the ground. He had no intention of imposing himself on anyone while he wandered around, but she looked much less busy than the others in the room, who were writing or otherwise occupied. But she seemed willing to entertain his prying, so he hoped he hadn't been too much of a bother.
When they were finally facing each other, he smiled politely, mostly because he was very excited to be speaking with a mage without other people around - never mind those templars off in the corner. He noticed that she was acting a bit awkwardly, then she curtsied. Stifling a chuckle, he continued to smile, and shook his head at her apology. "It's fine," whatever rudeness she thought she may have committed was dismissed. Realizing that she must have known who he was - since she'd curtsied and addressed him formally - he decided it was only polite to introduce himself anyway. "I'm Coan, by the way. This is Noa," he said, looking down tot he Mabari as he ran a hand over her head. "She couldn't sleep, so she took me on a late night walk."
