Vi responded to the nudge and relaxed against Conlan, glad she was able to ease at least some of his doldrums.
"Don't you forget it. Best pirate, remember? I should have a medal."
She played with the sleeves of her tunic as she laid back, and then tilted her head to look at him with a little smile, the red of her hair sliding over her shoulders.
"I'm good for remembering what's gone right. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that you can't linger." She made mock conspiratorial glances left and right, and then up at Conlan. "Don't tell anyone, because it's a secret, but I have made mistakes. Big ones." She opens her arms to indicate the size.
"And then I yell at myself, and I get on with it. If I lingered over them and questioned myself all day, my crew would start to question me, and then there'd be mutiny, and it would be a great mess that I'd have to clean up later. Messy business, doubt. So it's better to just remember how absolutely amazing and wonderful I am. Life gets on much better." She flashed a wide grin, obviously joking - but she didhave enough ego for three in all her tiny packaging.
