She waited for his signal, her brows raising at the explosion, flash of fire and the wave of heat, but she kept pressed close against the side of the building before following him. She slipped into the doorway behind him, boots crunching through the remains of the broken door.
Her claymore was in her hands, and she relished the satisfying weight of it, quickly taking stock of the situation. Undoubtedly the robed man near the window was the spellcaster, and he looked scared. Of course he was, he was staring his own death in the face. But he would put up a fight, of that she had no doubt. As would the men quickly gathering their arms near the fireplace. It was for them that she went.
Her weapon was heavy, but her armor light and she moved more nimbly than one weighted down in plate and chains might. Imenry brought her weapon up with a loud grunt, blocking the first swing from the axe-wielder. Metal slid over metal and she shoved hard, pushing him back as she shifted to block the man with the short swords. She dodged in close, twisting the sword in her grip and slamming the pommel against his jaw. He reeled back, dazed with blood on his lips.
Imenry ducked another swing from the axe wielder and shot a foot out to sweep at his legs, sending him crashing to the floor.
By this time the third man was swiftly arming his crossbow and she knew she had to get to him before he got off a shot. She didn't look particularly good with a bolt sticking out of her back. Imenry jumped over the axe-wielder before he could get to his feet and rolled away from a swipe of his weapon. Swinging her sword back she advanced on the archer, a ferocious gleam in her eyes. She swept the sword up, cutting a slash along his abdomen and up, cutting through leather armor and skin, blood splashing her skin, soaking her blade and dribbling to the floor. He followed, falling into the pool with a wet slap and a shuddering death breath rattling in his chest. The crossbow slipped from his hands.
Imenry turned back towards the remaining too with a dark smile.
