Imenry stood still a moment as if pondering Elsa's question. Truly, it was odd to her. "Wherever you are from it must be far indeed, because even in Orlais they have female warriors... or chevaliers if you will... There are women guards and knights here the same as men, though admittedly their numbers are fewer." She shrugged. "It is considered that women can be just as capable as men in battle."
"As for why I know how to fight," she continued. "It's because I always wanted to. I learned from my father as a girl, and then took more formal lessons as I got older. There are always people needed to protect those who choose not to fight, and there's no shame in choosing either one for yourself, but this is what I chose and what I am suited to." She shifted the dagger in her hand. "Besides, I do not have magic like you."
Shifting she guided the other woman back to the reason they had come here. She didn't like Elsa, nor want to become her friend, but she'd do what she said she would do and then be done with her. "Another good place to aim is up here under the collarbone." She indicated the space on herself. "If you can hit close to the shoulder you can disable the arm, but either way you'll injure them badly. This is an attack you can counter with if someone strikes low at you, leaving their upper body more open."
