Imenry stared at Elsa, having not missed the sentence started, then discarded. Elsa did not know anything of her past, and not even her own powers it seemed. But Imenry said nothing about that. She sighed softly, letting her gaze slid off into the distance. "In a real battle, you should be using both magic and weapon to your advantage. On the battlefield it will not be about playing fair, but exploiting your enemy's weaknesses." She let her eyes track back towards Elsa. "Most warriors and other types of fighters have no real defense against magic, except to kill the caster. They will aim for you." She narrowed her eyes. "And should you ever have to face against a Templar, you will be severely outmatched. They are trained to take your magic away, weaken you and will be immune to some spells. It is unlikely you will have to fight one... well unless you truly are an apostate."
She could have told Elsa that she could ask for protection from the Wardens, but she said nothing. Her first concern was Brennan, and this strange woman might only make things more difficult for them, especially if her old friend truly was involved in some sort of entanglement with her.
"It's fine. I've been hit by stronger spells," Imenry waved it away. She knew it was a slight jab at Elsa, saying that her magic was not altogether that powerful, intentional or not. "If I truly thought you were a threat I wouldn't hesitate to kill you. You have already said that you have no past. No one here knows you well, and we are alone." She raised a brow towards Elsa. "In the end, you will learn or you will not. Even though Lee is a circle mage, I am sure she would be your most valuable asset here. She is a teacher and familiar with aiding those who do not know what they are doing." Since the hex had faded, Imenry shifted back into a defensive stance.
"Try attacking me again. If you have any training it will be all instinct, no need to try and remember."
