Imenry raised a brow at the other woman, whose name she still did not know. "Well you'll learn in time. But here the Chantry rules, and mages are not exactly allowed to roam free. If you are an apostate, we'd better not practice at the castle after all. I suppose the only alternative is to go outside the village. We don't want to go far, but if we can find a clearing in the woods."
Maybe the woman would be scared to leave the relative safety of Redcliffe and change her mind, then Imenry could go up to the castle and practice on her own. This woman was confusing, with her ragged hair and dress and her haughty mannerisms. It was almost as if she had once been nobility, but she was cast out and forced to live on the streets. She still obviously hadn't figured out that she was no longer a wealthy woman who got everything she wanted. She could learn a little lesson in humility.
Her wariness of knights had not passed by Imenry unnoticed, and the warrior considered that as she trudged up the hill and over the bridge towards the main road. Why would a noble woman be afraid of knights? Perhaps she was used to commanding their respect, and yet if she'd been cast out, perhaps she was afraid of being discovered? Imenry simply resolved that the woman was strange. There seemed to be no reason behind her bizarre behavior.
