Imenry smiled when Brennan took her hand, returning the gentle squeeze. It was nice to have the closeness with another person, simply as a friend. For years the only kind of closeness she'd had with others, physically, had been brief sexual encounters. It had been easy to forget what it was like to have otherwise, to have people who loved you. She sighed, resting her head against Brennan's shoulder and closing her eyes. She was so tired, and here was someone she didn't have to lie to, or avoid certain topics of conversation around. For once, she felt completely safe.
She was certain that the feeling wouldn't last. There were still Darkspawn to deal with. The attack against Redcliffe while they were gone was definitely a sign that something big was going on in the area. Something that they would undoubtedly have to face soon. "Tell me about where you have been, what you have done, Brennan. I already told you about what I was doing. It's only fair."
She smiled slightly, wondering what sort of things he got slapped for when he'd first left home. He'd always been quite the charmer, so it was possible that more than a few of those slaps had come from the ladies for reasons well-deserved. It was true that things here were very different from their home, but at least Imenry had never been slapped for misunderstanding local customs. Perhaps she'd been able to get away with some of it because she was a woman. She was beginning to feel more drowsy. Perhaps a short nap at least would benefit her after her poor sleep the night before.
