"I think you're smart enough to judge each person, be they a mage or not, on their actions and not simply on the kinds of powers they possess," Lillie said softly. "Mages can be bad or kind, just like anyone else. Most people seem to think we're pre-disposed to evil though."
She laughed softly at Jill's exclamation and shook her head. "That's because my father was human and so am I. Apparently the child of an elf and a human is never an elf. I'm not really certain why that is though. I did inherit some of my mother's looks and her stature, but no pointed ears or anything. I suppose in some ways it makes things easier for me, but it wasn't very good in the alienage." Her mother took the brunt of the unkindness, of course, but Lillie had always known she was different. There were plenty of elves at the alienage that believed as Paerel did.
Lillian couldn't help but be surprised at Jill's last statement and her eyes went wide as she gasped softly and then laughed. "You did? Perhaps he wasn't doing it right then," she teased. Of course, Lillie was well aware that not all women were all that interested in sex, but she had never held that point of view, obviously. It was probably for the best given the way she made her living. "Have you had the experience with someone who wasn't a professional?"
