"I always thought if it was up to women there would never be any war, but then I suppose we'd be woefully underprepared for the Blights. Darkspawn certainly can't be reasoned with. They're more like a plague spreading across the land." She smiled at Jill's words and blushed slightly at the idea. Most Fereldan's thought of magic as a danger or a curse. It was nice to be admired for something Lillie had always been frightened to reveal. "It is wonderful. The fact that I am able to help someone in that manner it... really gives a sense of satisfaction."
"I don't know that I would want to grow up in the wild," she admitted. "I'm far too used to the comforts of a city. But I guess if you grow up that way you're quite used to it. In the alienage the Dalish were always kind of like a myth or a legend. Some of the elves thought it was rubbish and others believed them to be real, free elves. I learned in Rivain that they are certainly real. There they have a permanent settlement and live in peace with the human cities."
She laughed softly. "Oh the pirate captain was a very exciting woman. She was completely drunk the first time I met her, and almost started a fight with a man three times her size. The woman never lacked in confidence." She smiled. "Most of all the guards I met in Denerim when I lived there fell into two categories. It was hard to be a guard back then, because their ranks were so corrupt that it was near impossible to stand up for what was right." Her voice had grown soft, thinking of Ordhan as she'd known him then, before she shook the thoughts away.
She grinned at Jill's whispered confession. "Did you really? Did you enjoy it? Did you... just go for fun or did you make use of the services?" Sometimes people came out of curiosity, had a drink, talked and then left without seeking to have any physical needs met. It wasn't really for everyone, after all.
