Lillie chuckled at the restless animal and reached out a hand past Jill so the horse could sniff her. She assumed that they were like dogs in that they should get used to your scent before you went petting them. Maybe that was a silly assumption, but better safe than sorry.
"Does she like to run then? I imagine days of traveling at this pace might be trying for her. Maybe you could take her off ahead and scout a bit, get her running."
And it wouldn't hurt to know what was coming now and then, if Jill did decide she wanted to ride instead of walking. Of course, Lillie hoped she would still rejoin the party and walk with her sometimes, enjoying the other woman's companionship and having someone to chat with. She was curious about her life, growing up on a farm and raising horses, training them. She clearly had a way with the animals, if her interactions with Salma were anything to go by.
Lillie rubbed her palm over the horse's muzzle gently and smiled. "No... I've never really seen one up close like this. We used to have a Royal Knight who frequented the Pearl... when I was younger. He spoke fondly of his own steed. I suppose it garnered him a lot of attention as well. The image of a dashing knight on a stallion. He said he was a big black warhorse named Lugus. I do wonder what happened to them during the siege..."
