Arja grinned widely when he sat up, yes she had his attention! She leaned casually on the bar with the smile on her face as he explained his presence, attention caught up in the man's words. A knight! Not that Gwaren didn't have knights, because they did, but they didn't have Denerim knights did they!? Of course he was there for the forest. It could only have been that, pirates at sea, or some political nonsense with the Teryna. The guesses she cooked up as to his mission were both wild and fanciful, the curse of a bard. Maybe he was there to put down a pocket of mutinous men accused of treason that had taken up in the deeper parts of the forest. Or maybe he was a member of some coalition that met in secret in secluded parts of Thedas to discuss the dire threats that formulated against the country and how best to covertly stop them.
Her merry thoughts were distracted however as he continued. Anyone who enjoyed music automatically gained her favor, more so when it was music she provided. So she offered up another ridiculously pleased grin. “It is so nice to find like minded people! I swear, if it weren't for the fact that I'm the one controlling the taps 'round here, some of my regulars would just as soon gag me than let me play.” It was a joke and she laughed at her tone was easy and jovial as she said it. Really no one she knew would be so cruel as to it, even if they were thinking it most the time.
Surprised, her eyebrows winged up when he refuted his capability to start a brawl. “Now ser, of course I don't see you comin' in and starting trouble. And really when there is a bit of a ruckus, it's not so big a trouble as you might think. Wouldn't be a proper pub if we didn't have your drunken rumble every once and a while? But mostly no one ends up with more damage than can be tended to and we're not so hard up for repairs as some of the other bars in town. Think most everyone thinks I'll start knocking heads like my mother if they make a row around here.” A stifled snort followed that statement while her eyes scrunched in delight.
But talking about the bar was not her plan when she had a stranger from Denerim of all places on her hands. “Listen to me, chattering on and on about feckless bar fights, not interesting in the least. You can find those in any little village you wander into.” With a wave of her hand she brushed the conversation topic aside. “A knight on the other hand, you must have seen...” she paused letting the wonder fill her voice, “soooo many things. I can't even 'magine some of the adventures you could have been on. Take pity on city girl and share one or two? I love tales especially those that come from outside the city. Growing up around here you tend to hear them all at least thrice if not more.”
