The walk was more smooth than she had expected. It only took a few minutes before Thais relaxed (as much as one can against armor) completely. Being carried was a nice change to her exhausted body. Her crying had stopped finally except for the occasional sniffle. Thais tried to think of something to say, but was too tired to find anything adequate. She gave a small nod at Aurin’s explanation of their pathway. The woman hadn’t even noticed where they were going. Her awareness of the surroundings was fairly poor at the moment.
As the templar talked more, she nodded absently. She was hardly listening to his words. Exhaustion was overtaking her entire being. Resting her head against Aurin’s chest, she murmured, “Thank you.” Her eyes fluttered as she attempted to stay awake. It was hardly an attempt though as she was asleep in the next couple of seconds. Her breathing was calm and her expression softened into a rather peaceful one that could only be created from intense crying and days of exhaustion.
