Salma seemed to appreciate the compliment, taking a few steps to the side and then back close to Seda, tails held high playfully. For a horse who couldn't express her opinions with words, she was doing a pretty good job of saying things anyway. 'I know, ain't I pretty?' her prancing seemed to mean. Jill only smiled, glad that at least her horse seemed to be making friends with the girl. She seemed very nervous when Jill spoke to her, and although she wanted to find out why, Jill knew that Salma probably was a better ice breaker than her own curious questions. "With Salma, yes," she agreed easily, stretching her legs out in front of her. "It's nice. I thought I'd work at a farm all my life. Getting to travel is much more fun. A caravan sounds exciting too!"
Ignoring her blush, Jill just broke the interesting sweetbread in two halves and handed her new companion one. Salma, ever eager for more food or scratches and petting, stepped closer leaning down to butt at Seda's shoulder. Jill giggled. "You've made a fast friend of her now. Look, she even goes to you to beg for more, before me!" If she felt any sting of jealousy, she didn't let it show on her face. The elf girl was so twitchy, she seemed like she could use a friend, even if it was a horse. Jill knew how good friends horses made and felt she could but encourage it.
"The baker gave me some apples for her, want to feed her another one?" she asked holding it out. Since the girl had placed herself as far away on the step as possible, Jill had to stretch her whole arm out offering the apple. Waiting, she smiled at the girl again.
