One brow raised in amusement before Lee shook her head with a quiet sigh. Perhaps she had made the sun sound more threatening than it actually was but the mage was going to lie to the young dwarf. She had no intention to scare Miss Signy and she did hope that she hadn’t but wasn’t it best to know the truth, be aware of the potential harm and prepare accordingly, rather than find out the hard and painful way.
Yes, she nodded to herself, the truth was always best. In the back of her mind the reminder of her ongoing lie of omission festered all the while calling to be rectified. It was soon smothered by duty and promises made but the reminder of it had Lee deciding that the matter of utter honesty should be shelved for the time being.
Snapping out of her thoughts she blinked to find herself in the castle’s courtyard, Johann already striding forward with a boisterous greeting on her lips. Following the other woman’s path Lee fell into place next to Ser Nerys and Loïc who had thankfully made his way here without collapsing under the bulk of his armor. An easy smile flitted to her face as she looked at him and a murmured thanks escaped her before she quickly snapped around to focus on Johann’s conversation with the Arl. At his call to come in Lee hesitantly stepped forward, unsure that she had any place in the discussion to come but unwilling to ignore the man’s request.
Bowing in thanks to Ser Coan she slipped past him and walked quietly behind Johann, hands clasped before her and eyes lowered almost deferentially. Her time among nobles, as one of them, had long since ended. She knew very well where she ranked in society now and it was not even near being on equal footing with an Arl. For now it would be best if she remained silent unless called upon or at least until the mage had something of use to add. In the meantime she set about listening carefully to the conversation going on around her, tucking away as much information as she could.
