Angling her head down to meet the eyes of the dwarf, voice dry, she spoke. “There are plenty of doors but news of the darkspawn, no matter where it comes, will open those doors for you.”
Head snapping up her gaze returned to fix firmly back on Loïc and she nodded once, sharply, at his query. “Yes, if you would please. Tell them there is further news of the darkspawn to the northwest.” Answer received he turned on his heel and headed off to the castle, armor rattling as he ran. She watched him for a while, amusement absent in the face of her concern.
As Johann took off at a trot after Loïc she was left to calmly follow in her wake, bare feet tenderly navigating the rough ground. She cursed herself for not grabbing her boots but stayed where she was, determined to stick by the dwarf until she reached whomever she needed safely. Cautious eyes remained on Johann, half afraid that the exhausted woman would tip over at any moment. So far she seemed fine, walking at a steady clip and looking around with ease, but Lee did not want to take any chances and stood ready to spring forward and grab her if need be. Granted that probably would not do much. Send them both to the ground maybe.
Sighing softly to herself she perked up at the other woman’s question, eyes brightening slightly at the mention of the Wardens. Perhaps if the Arl did refuse immediate aid the Grey Wardens would be able to send some of their group to rescue the people this woman was so intent on saving. Half the group had left before to fight off darkspawn, could they not simply do so again? It was not certain that the Wardens could help, just as the refusal of aid from the Arl was not certain either, but somehow she was reassured. The people in that cabin may have been total strangers to Lee but no one deserved to be left to the darkspawn. No one.
“Exactly what I said before. That they are currently hosts of the Arl and are staying at the castle. There are currently three in residence, the fourth lost in a recent skirmish. From what I gathered they were sent to aid Redcliffe against the darkspawn. If they have a further purpose I have yet to be,” voice cutting off the mage stopped where she was, robes rustling, as her eyes scanned the crowds as a familiar voice rang out.
Catching sight of blonde curls one of her hands rose in greeting. “One of our Wardens now,” she whispered down to the dwarf beside her before she called back to the one who still approached. “Miss Signy, good day.” Bowing her head quickly in respect she gestured to her companion. “I was accompanying Johann up to the castle to speak with the Arl and your fellow Wardens. She brings news of the darkspawn.”
