Who: Bruce Banner, Loki Laufeyson, and Natasha Romanoff Where: Second floor, West End, Computer Lab When: Mid-morning-ish Why: For chit-chatting, really Rating: TBD
Though he had nothing to hide going into that computer lab, Loki couldn't help but feel on edge, the feeling increasing the closer he got to the door. It almost felt like opening a door to his past, forcing himself once more to deal with the horrors he had committed. This time it wasn't just his own recollections of his crimes; he was facing Natasha Romanoff and her perspective, no doubt some fraction of Barton's suffering would be included. The faceless genocide was almost nothing standing up against the spy who was more real than they. That didn't imply the lives he had taken where he knew nothing of the person were inconsequential. In fact, at times the vast number of his anonymous victims plagued him in nightmares. For them he could never truly offer any real recompense; he would never know them.
Loki was uncertain if he would be greeted by Romanoff and Doctor Banner upon entering the room, or if he would arrive early and await them. Either scenario was unsettling, both reinforcing his small fear of being antagonised. He couldn't deny that voice in him, for it was honest; he was afraid. His mind was weak, and Natasha had been able to crack it when it was infinitely stronger. The information she could get from him could be devastating. On the other hand, his body was still damaged, his self-induced bruises and strains, and the Hulk, as they called him, could destroy him at his strongest. He was outmatched in every way and would be at their mercy. He did not particularly care for those odds.
To run away now, however, would cause them only to hunt for him, and they certainly had the advantage over him, what with nearly their entire team present. To break his promise to Natasha could put Lynne in danger as well, and so he continued on, attempting to rummage through him for some semblance of confidence, when in reality, there was very little to be found alone as he was.
