Before he had amended his state of having not been in a fight in years, Sadie had already squeezed the arm of the man beside them. Mr. Williams said "not a professional one" to her just as she said "We can fix that," to the broad stranger.
His head turned to look over his shoulder, the remnants of a crooked smile left over from whatever joke his friend had made. "Excuse me," Sadie's face was lit up with entirely too much charm, and she opened her mouth and took a breath, presumably to invite him to fight her former patient.
