Vanishing Act: Act I Who: Marietta Edgecombe and Hermione Granger When: Late evening Where: Longbottom Cottage, Ottery St. Catchpole What: Discussions of the future, and the appearance of innocence Why: Because it's almost do-or-die time, and Marietta doesn't really wish to die
Marietta appeared near Longbottom Cottage with all the decorum that the disorienting experience of Apparation would allow her. As she walked the path from the gate to the front door, she kept up a constant litany in her mind. Stand straight. Chin up. Don't look suspicious. Don't look to see if you're being followed or watched. Furtive looks are not recommended. We are not a weasel, Marietta. Weasel-esque looks on humans tend to attract attention.
She knocked on the door, taking a deep breath and steadying herself. This was the closest she'd been to free for a long time, and she didn't intend to step back into her gilded cage.
