Surprisingly, Marcus had been able to doze off and on for the past few hours, occasionally shifting to keep Ginny covered, or to keep his limbs from falling asleep. Once or twice he had shared a particularly significant look with Adrian.
He came fully awake as Ginny began to move about restlessly, so that, by the time she spoke Adrian's name, he was fully awake and reaching for his wand on the side table.
"Adrian, she's awake," he said, his voice sounding too loud in the quiet of the late hour. Softer, to Ginny, "Hey there. Are you alright?"
