The guards assured Tonks that the interrogation room had gotten an extra lockdown of warding charms, and that there would be an extra security detail outside and readily available. Bellatrix would be brought under the strongest wards and restraints they had.
Tonks hoped it would be enough.
Of course it would, she told herself firmly. My mad aunt, she thought, a phrase that went some way towards easing the terror that twisted her (empty) stomach. Not my boggart, not a monster, just my mad aunt.
Her shoulder was aching again. And now her knee too. The physical pain was almost comforting, though.
The interrogation room contained a wide table, with a chair on either end. Tonks would stand, the better to act quickly if needed. The guards escorted her and Adrian inside and gestured for him to sit.
"Where would you like me to stand?" she asked him.
