I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah.

Paige couldn't count the amount of times she had tried to orb back home since she'd arrived in Los Angeles. She couldn't make it through the barrier. No one could. She could orb just about anywhere in the city, but not back home. It was the strangest thing. And it was also strange that it was somehow 2017 when it had been over 15 years earlier at home. She knew time travel was possible, but not like this. And Prue was here. She had never gotten to get to know her eldest sister at home, but maybe she could here.

Piper wasn't around, and Phoebe was from before she'd even met Paige. That was tough on her, she had to deliver the bad news. That wasn't something Paige had looked forward to doing. She was in a very uncomfortable position with her sisters. And she was pretty sure there were serious consequences to telling people their future. She just wasn't sure what else she could do. But it seemed, for now, that'd be a problem for another day.

Paige was freezing. Not just a little cold, but freezing. And it didn't take her long to figure out why. She was outside on a mountain. This was not where she had gone to sleep. She tried to orb back to the condo but to no avail. Shivering, she took a look around her. She saw Phoebe was there too.

"Phoebe!" She called. "Phoebe, wake up." She needed to get her sister out of here before they froze to death. Maybe that was why she couldn't orb. She couldn't leave Phoebe alone up here. But Paige wasn't sure what the end game was here. She'd been in Los Angeles only a short amount of time. She just knew they needed to move or risk freezing up here. And she was so...so tired.

"Come on, Pheebs..." She shook her gently. "Before we turn into snow witches." Leave it to Paige to try and make a joke in a dire situation. But that was just what she did.

Phoebe was not having the best time in this new world. She and Prue had been kidnapped to some place to be fighters for angels. In some ways, this was not any different than the Elders pulling at them or blackmailing them to get the sisters to do what they wanted them to do.

Of course, here they were without their third sister, they apparently had a new sister that Grams hadn't thought to tell them about, there were people from other worlds trapped like they were...

...and it was a lot to take in and handle. It made Phoebe's head hurt trying to make sense and when she was getting visions and flashes, they didn't always help.

She had fallen asleep on the couch in the apartment she now shared with Prue and Paige because she had been studying and also trying to make notes on everything she had seen on the network.

Which was why she didn't understand why when she felt herself being shaken awake she felt so horribly cold. She finally forced herself to open her eyes and blinked up at Paige in confusion. "Paige, why is it so cold in the apartment?" She frowned and then moved her arm, feeling the wetness sticking to it. "And why is there snow?"

"We're not in the apartment, Phoebe." Paige told her. "We're outside on a mountain and I can't orb us back to the apartment." She was extremely frustrated about this. What good was being half whitelighter if she couldn't even orb them to safety? Paige was too new to know what this was all about.

"Any ideas?" She asked her sister. She was sure if Prue was here, she'd have one. Paige kicked herself for thinking that way, mentally of course. She was never going to be the witch Prue had been. And now that Prue was here too, was there even room for Paige? Phoebe and Prue didn't even know her. But now was not the time to think about that.

She grabbed Phoebe's hand and helped her up. "It's gonna be a very cold trek down the mountain." And they needed to get moving quickly. And as she pulled Phoebe to her feet, something in the darkness seemed to roar.

"That's not good..."

Phoebe groaned, not liking what all of this was meaning. She had been paying attention to the network and the people showing up in hospitals and had been worried about it happening to her sisters. She hadn't thought about what would happen if she had been taken.

"The so-called angels," Phoebe muttered as she was helped to her feet by Paige. "They've snatched us for some messed-up survival test like they have been doing to others." She gave Paige a faint smile. "I hope you realize that once we get back to the apartment, Prue is going to hover over you for awhile to make sure you're okay. She takes her role as big sister very seriously."

She looked around them, flinching a little bit when they heard the roar.
"If this is anything like some of the others I read about on the network,
for this snow hell, we still have our powers. We just can't use them to get to the apartment."

She leapt up in the air to test her levitation to make sure, and gave a sigh of relief. She dropped back to the ground and looked at Paige.

"So, you can probably orb around the mountain, you just can't get us out of here."

Paige didn't know what to say in reply to Phoebe's comment about Prue. The truth was, she didn't know their eldest sister at all. She had never gotten the chance. But what she did know was that she was not as good of a witch as Prue was, and she never would be. And why even try now?

That attitude was not going to save them, so she pushed those thoughts aside for now. She could stew about her inferiority complex after they got out of this. How dare these supposed angels? They had barely been here a minute and already they were being tested.

Paige nodded, and testing her own ability, orbed so she was on the opposite side of Phoebe. At least they had their powers. And Paige could orb Phoebe somewhere if she needed to, to get them out of trouble. But not back home, not even back to the apartment.

The roaring got louder, and as its source got closer to them...Paige gasped in surprise.

"Holy...is that a T-Rex?"

Phoebe turned to see what Paige was looking at and had to blink a few times.

"A T-Rex. Of course. Can't out two witches up against something easy like demons or snow monsters. No, we get the cranky dinosaurs who didn't get enough love in Jurassic Park."

Phoebe was trying not to freak out but this was a dinosaur and it was one of the biggest and baddest dinosaurs in history. If he caught her and Paige they would be so very beyond dead that it wasn't even funny.

"How much you wanna bet that he's between us and where we need to get for safety?"

"I think their vision is pretty bad, so if we don't move quickly and we're really quiet...maybe we have a chance." Paige whispered. Truth be told, she was always fascinated by dinosaurs, the T-Rex especially. But she liked them better in books and movies, not when they were right in one's path.

"Okay, so we just be really quiet and move slowly." Paige said. Of course it couldn't be the simple. She was pretty sure she could have just used her power to orb a sword through its heart, but that seemed overly cruel. It wasn't the T-Rex's fault they were in this mess. Paige would prefer to only attack if necessary. Hopefully he was the only dinosaur here.

But just as soon as she'd had that thought, she heard a rustling in the brush. "I don't know what that is, but we better get moving." She said, continuing to whisper.

Phoebe wasn't even surprised when they heard more noises that indicated the T-Rex was not alone. After all,
she was a Charmed One and having danger upon danger piled up at her was something that she had unfortunately become accustomed to.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good," Phoebe murmured.

She'd seen this movie and it didn't always end well for the innocent tourists lost in the park. The only difference was that they were in snow and she was pretty sure that she recalled from somewhere that dinosaurs did not do well in the cold. She was about to mention that to Paige when something attacked them from the bushes.

Phoebe didn't even hesitate. Forgetting that Paige could orb, she reached out and grabbed onto her newly discovered sister and shoved her behind her. She had barely gotten Paige out of the line of fire when a claw slashed into her side. She cried out from the sudden onset of pain and then did a high martial arts kick into the creature's head.

It wasn't her smoothest attack, but she would probably be forgiven since she was bleeding.

"Phoebe, no..." Paige started to protest, but it was too late. Whatever was attacking them now was not the T-Rex, but some kind of frigid crab monster. What? Where were they even coming up with these creatures? Paige didn't know, and they didn't have time to debate about it either. After Phoebe kicked the crab monster, Paige moved her out of the way, and used her power to orb a sword right through the crab's eye. It shrieked and writhed in pain, calling all of the attention of the T-Rex to the crab.

"We've got to move." Paige said. The T-Rex was now distracted by the crab and not paying any attention to them. Let them battle it out while the girls made their way down the mountain. Part of Paige was tempted to watch and see who would win out, but she thought better of it. This was a great opportunity for them to make it down the mountain.

Now that there was some distance between them and the creatures, Paige allowed herself to stop and look over Phoebe's wound. Luckily it wasn't too bad. But Paige healed it anyway. There might have been something else to fight along the way. But now that Phoebe was healed, they could get moving again.
