Diana was preparing for her own challenge, since she was sure she would get one eventually. And she needed to be able to protect Steve as well. He was a soldier, he could protect himself. But this was a whole new world for him, with new dangers. All Diana knew was that she could not lose Steve again. The angels, gods, or whatever they were...they would challenge Diana at some point, she was sure of it. And perhaps if they slipped up, she might have been able to determine what they were really up to. She wasn't sure what kind of challenge she would get but she was a warrior, she'd been fighting for most of her life. She didn't really know how to do anything else. Whatever she had expected...this was not it. Diana opened her eyes and had a look around. This was not her condo, and Steve was nowhere to be found. But she wasn't alone either. She vaguely recognized the man they were testing with her. Angel. They'd spoken when he first arrived, but that had been early last month. At least it wasn't Steve. She hoped he was left out of the whole challenge thing since he had enough to adjust to. From what Diana could tell, this house might collapse at any moment. In fact, there was a low hanging beam that already threatened to fall, Diana tried to use her super strength to hold it up...but found that she was lacking. That wasn't right... It only took her a moment to figure out the angels had taken her powers away from her. Maybe they wanted to level the playing field or maybe they just wanted to mess with her. Whatever it was, she wasn't going to wait around in this house to die. "Come on, we've got to move." She called to Angel. "I don't have my strength." But she was still a warrior and she would get them back safely. And it seemed like Angel was a fighter too from their previous conversation. |
