I am the fighter, though not a boxer by trade
I am the fighter, few will remember my name

Sara was still adjusting to being in Los Angeles, but she missed the Wave Rider and her team. She thought that some of the team might have shown up by now, but so far it was just her. Laurel was here, Oliver, and some others but no one from the Wave Rider. Sara missed her team a lot, but it was nice to have Laurel here. This was maybe the only chance they'd have for that. Maybe it'd be a second chance for Oliver and Laurel too.

Sara went to bed in her condo, but that's not where she was when she woke up. She was lying on the floor of some dusty old cabin. That was new. Sara wasn't unaware though, she knew the angels were testing people. That had been all over the network with people disappearing lately. The angels wanted to test her, fine. She'd give them a show. She'd been trained by the League and now she could put those skills to good use.

She had been a little bored since she was in the city. Sara was used to traveling all over the place. Staying in one place wasn't something she'd done for a long time now. She liked her job well enough, and she was still training but it wasn't enough. Sara wasn't the type to really just settle down. She didn't know how.

It didn't take her long to realize she wasn't alone, but when she saw who it was that was lying on the couch...she was surprised. The angels were testing her with her sister? Interesting. That made the odds even better because Laurel was a bad ass too.

"Laurel." She said, looking down at her. "Come on, wake up, we gotta go." Whatever was coming, they needed to be ready. And step one was getting out of this death trap of a house.

Laurel had already been through a challenge with Dean and they had survived. It had been hard, but the two of them go through it. She thought it was over. She had done what she had to do to get over the ordeal by throwing herself into her work. She didn’t let it stop her, however. SHe was still trying to live life to the fullest because this was her last chance. She was on her ninth life and she knew that when this was over, it was really over. There was so much that she wanted to do and she just had to put it all into motion. Which she was trying to do. Between work and her friends and her sister … Oliver too. She was happy. She missed her father though.

Tonight was one of those nights when she was in her office, going over papers. She was making sure that she had everything she needed for her appearance in court in the morning and she heard her phone go off. She glanced over and checked it and smiled a little before setting her phone down. No, she didn’t answer - not yet. She wanted to finish reading the last few pages and then she would be able to leave.

As she turned the page, it was as if everything changed. And everything had. She opened her eyes as she stared into darkness. Her fingers clutched at the fabric underneath her and she realized she was on a sofa. She looked over and saw her sister and suddenly Laurel was up and looking around.

“What is this?” Laurel asked and shook her head. “I was already tested, I don’t get this.” Why was she being tested again? Did she fail the first time?

Suddenly, the house began to shake. It was small trembles at first but then it grew and things that were on shelves, dust and all began crashing down. “Sara,” she said and the two girls started to run from the room but the door wouldn’t open. Not at first. Laurel pulled on the door and suddenly it swung open. She should have looked before she went, but she didn’t. She stepped out of the room and suddenly, she was falling. Laurel screamed as she felt herself fall what felt like floors until she saw it so clearly. The blinding shine of a sword and Laurel couldn’t stop herself. “Sara!” She screamed, her voice an echo until there was nothing. Total darkness. Laurel’s body impaled itself on a sword.

Laurel was dead as the floor above her began to close itself up, blocking Sara’s view of her sister.

Sara lost it then. The last thing she saw was Laurel being impaled on a sword, and she was not about to lose her sister again. She couldn’t. She would kill all of these angels if something happened to her sister. She was trying hard but she couldn’t get the door to open. She stomped on the floor in frustration. The floorboard underneath her foot started to collapse, and she landed on the floor that Laurel was on.

Her sister’s body was lifeless on the sword, And Sara pulled it out of her, tossing the sword to the side and weeping. This house could just collapse on them now, as far as she was concerned. She wasn’t going to leave her sister. Laurel deserved better than that. How could she just be gone?

Sara pulled Laurel into her lap, and touched her face gently...her tears falling on Laurel’s face. She had gotten her back only to lose her. She couldn’t believe this was actually happening. She hoped it was some kind of dream. But somehow she just knew it was all real. Those angel bastards had done this.

“Why?” She called to the heavens. “Why bring her back just to take her away from me again?” It looked like they were in the living room now...the front door just a few feet away but Sara didn’t move. She wasn’t leaving her sister, not ever again.

With that thought in mind, the house slowly began to collapse. Floors and floors of the house started to tumble down and Laurel, who was lifeless in her arms began to stir. Her eyes shot open and all she saw was her sister as the house began to shake and rumble and Laurel remembered everything. She had died - again. And now she was alive. Her hands moved to her chest and there was nothing. No wound, just wet blood and she breathed.

“Sara?” She asked, looking up at her before she sat up then. She felt fine. Good as new. What the hell was going on?

Suddenly, beams started falling all around them and the two of them scrambled to their feet.

“We can’t stay here, this house is falling apart.” It was like a major earthquake was happening right now, the foundation was cracking as pieces of the house fell. Laurel moved to head toward the door with her sister when a beam and then another fell in front of her, blocking her path. It wasn’t only beams though. The house must have been about five or six floors and everything that was above them was falling on them. It was like it couldn’t be escaped at this point. Especially when a heavy dresser came tumbling and Laurel tried to stop it but she wasn’t strong enough and she fell back.

She held her arms out to stop it but she knew it wouldn’t work. Before it literally had the chance to smash her face in, it was stopped and she took a breath as she saw her sister holding onto it, along with everything else that was behind it, trying to crush Laurel.

Sara barely had time to process the fact that Laurel was somehow alive before the house seemed to come down around them. They were so close to the door, but so far as the house seemed to collapse in on itself. There was no time to ask for the why or the how of it all.

Sara saw everything that was about to crush her sister, and she grabbed onto it, like it was nothing. And then she tossed it away, pulling Laurel through the front door with her, as they rolled onto the ground outside. Sara got to her feet and helped her big sister to hers, just in time to see the rest of the house collapse.

A couple of swords were gleaming as the moonlight hit the ground, and she could see some other weapons too. The house wasn’t their test. It had simply been their warm up. But Laurel had come back from the dead and Sara seemed to have super strength. These angels had underestimated the Lance sisters.

Sara picked up a sword and looked towards those woods. Whatever they had to do, whatever they had to fight...it was in those woods.

“Stay close to me.” She instructed her sister, as she inched towards the edge of the woods.

Laurel barely had time to process everything that was going on. There was no time. None. They were outside now and looking toward the woods. Laurel grabbed a sword, pulling it back toward her chest as she looked out into the great unknown. It wasn’t the house. It was never the house. Laurel closed her eyes and breathed in before she nodded.

“Let’s go.”

The two girls headed off toward the woods and it was like the night just got blacker and blacker. The darkness was all around them and she could hear sounds that only seemed to be getting louder. But none of them stood out to her except for one. That voice. Laurel nearly gasped, her body shivering at the memory of it.

Damien Darhk.

“Sara, did you hear that?” She asked, looking at her sister. Her sister wasn’t there that night she was killed, but she knew about it. She would know how much his voice alone would terrify her and it didn’t. But the thing was, Laurel wasn’t the same girl he killed. She had come here and she knew this was her only chance at anything. She didn’t want to die. But there were tears in her eyes at the memory. The last words with her friends. Her father.

The last words with Oliver.

No, this couldn't be it. And she would do whatever she could in order to get herself and her sister out of this. She wasn't even fully processing that she had died and ultimately came back. Was that a thing? Her sister now seemed to have super strength the way she stopped the furniture and the beams and tossed them aside like they were nothing. Laurel thought for sure that she was going to meet, yet, another death.

But she didn't.

She heard her name again and then a bit of laughter and Laurel just got angry at it. She could see her sister who wasn't hiding anything she was feeling in that moment.

It was a voice Sara knew all too well too. She and her team had to insert him back into the timeline after wiping his memory, knowing what he would do to her sister. It was the hardest thing Sara had to do. She hated it. She hated him. She hated that Laurel had saved her, and she hadn't been able to return the favor. She could travel in time but she couldn't change the past.

Hearing him speak her sister's name filled her with a rage she hadn't felt in some time. The angels had made a mistake in bringing him here. Sara was all too happy to beat him again. And Laurel would fight too. Maybe it would be a sliver of revenge for the Lance sisters. If nothing else, she was going to make Darhk very sorry he'd ever come here.

And he might have had some magic, but Sara had super strength now. And even if she didn't, she would have hit Darhk with everything she did have. She was squeezing so hard she nearly dropped the sword.

Without another thought, she rushed forward ready once again to face the monster that had killed her sister.

Laurel just stared at her sister. It was like she could feel everything she was feeling. It was overwhelming and Laurel herself, while she was angry and perhaps a little afraid, it was like she was almost numb as well. She had every inch of a fight in her, but with the knowledge that she had died and came back, now twice, she was starting to question it all.

The two girls began to run toward the voices, his voice specifically and they found themselves running through the woods. "Sara!" She yelled, "This way." She changed directions and that's when she came upon it. Pushing branches out of the way, they found themselves on a rooftop ... in Star City. She felt the breeze as the wind blew, but they weren't alone. Besides Sara, it was also Damien Darhk and ... "Oliver!" She yelled, but he couldn't hear her.

But Damien could. He turned toward her and almost smiled the most sadistic of grins, as if he'd been waiting for them both to arrive. She felt empty then, the coldness consuming her.

Sara tried to stop her, perhaps for them both to go in this together, but Laurel wouldn't. Not when Oliver was suspended in the air from his magic, his body bruised and broken and all he had to do was snap his fingers or think a thought for Oliver to lose it all.

Laurel began to throw herself into a fight that would have proved to be difficult because the moment she swung the sword, she suddenly froze.

"Sara, dear - come join us," he called out and Laurel couldn't do anything to stop it. He eyed Laurel then and twirled his finger, the sword flying from Laurel's hand only to turn around and point between both Oliver and Laurel.

"You know, it would have been more fun to let Oliver choose who gets to live, but what the hell," he shrugged.

Oliver was knocked out, suspended, bloody and his skin was pale and Laurel just looked at him before her eyes turned dark and cold on Damien. She was going to kill him. If she could get out of this.

The hatred that Sara Lance felt for the man who had murdered her sister was almost immeasurable. Nothing would have talked her down now. He couldn't be here. This might have been Laurel's only chance at a life and Darhk was not going to ruin that for him. He had to be tired of Sara and her team beating him by now.

Here it was only Laurel and Sara, and as they ran through the woods, to the source of the voice they so despised...Sara was completely taken aback to suddenly being on a rooftop in Star City. Home. Was this real?

She really didn't have time to react before she saw the predicament they were in. And Oliver too. How had Darhk gotten to Oliver? This was crazy. The state he was in was very bad, but the Lance sisters would save him.

"Big mistake." She warned Damien, as she gripped her sword. Damien wouldn't be expecting their superpowers. They might be enough to level the playing field against his magic. Sara's team wasn't here, but Laurel was...and together they could defeat Darhk and save Ollie.

Without another word, she charged him, jumping and slashing with her sword as she came down. The White Canary was doing what she did best.

Laurel couldn't do anything. She was stuck, frozen in place, as Oliver literally floated next to her. Her eyes were on Damien as he smiled at her, amused by all of this. It was insane - how was this even happening? This had to have been some nightmare, a remnant of whatever was left from her first challenge. Laurel was just trying to come up with anything at this point to remind herself it wasn't real, but it felt real and it looked real and it sounded real. She turned her head, looking over at Oliver before her eyes were on her sister.

"Sara! Don't!" Laurel watched as her sister jumped into action and Laurel feared that Damien would just do the same thing to do, but he didn't. He dodged her hits expertly, moving out of the way when he needed to, but he was laughing. As if he was mocking Sara and her lack of ability to land a hit on him.

"Sara," he said simply and stepped back, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "Please," again, casually. "Don't hurt me."

Laurel struggled against her invisible bindings.

"You wanna see a trick?" He asked then and glanced over at Laurel and then Oliver. Suddenly the sword that was in front of them aimed at Laurel and once again, she was impaled but the force of it all threw her back against Oliver who also was impaled.

"It's like a Green Arrow and Black Canary shish kabob," he said with wonderment as his eyes turned to Sara. She was unable to move throughout this because Damien wanted her to watch, while feeling helpless at the same time.

Laurel and Oliver fell to the roof, crashing down and their lifeless bodies laid there for Sara to see.

"I think that was more fitting, don't you think?"

That was when Sara lost it completely. She had just watched her sister die again. And this time it hadn't just been Laurel, but Oliver too. That was not how this was supposed to go. Oliver had defeated Darhk, the Legends had defeated Darhk. He was not supposed to win.

She couldn't move or do anything while he just killed her sister and Ollie in front of her. All of her League training was completely useless when she couldn't move.

Her blood boiled as she looked from Laurel and Oliver to Damien. She wanted to wipe that smug look off his face so badly. And when he finally released her from his magic, he must have thought she was so broken. Not a threat. His job had been done.

But he was wrong, and he had made a huge mistake. Sara came at him again, relentlessly. She cut off one arm like it was nothing more than paper and then the other. She cut him down, legs off at the knees. And then finally she decapitated him too.

Covered in blood, and feeling rage beyond measure, she passed out next to her sister and Oliver. And then it was all over. They were free.
