WHO: Josh & Davina WHAT: Comforting his bestie WHEN: The day he arrives WHERE: Davina's apartment WARNINGS: TBD, probably N/A
Josh fiddled nervously with the prized daylight ring that always adorned his finger, ever since the day it was given to him. The irony that he wouldn't have it without Davina wasn't lost on him at all and it wasn't that he was nervous to see her, in particular. It was more like he was anxious. He had no idea what the Hell kind of world he'd somehow gotten yanked to but it was full of crazy already and he hadn't even been here for half a day yet.
Warring factions, sure. He could roll with that. 'Cause that was basically all life in New Orleans amounted to. But different timelines? The full Mikaelson clan and something that was actually powerful enough to keep them here? He was tripping. Big time. What was it Hayley had called him not all that long again? Oh, yeah: most likely to die next. So far, he'd managed to survive but it was mostly thanks to Davina and, he was pretty sure, Cami. For whatever reason, she seemed to care whether or not Klaus murdered him and lucky for Josh, she was also maybe the only person whose opinions the hybrid Original at least stopped to consider.
Somehow, his odds of survival here were even less than they were back in the Quarter which boded like, really, really badly for him.
Josh was basically fucked.
But for now, he was just glad that some cool people were here and for whatever time he had, he could be there for Davina. By her own admission, she wasn't doing so hot and that bugged him. She was just a girl and she'd already been through way too much. He was fucking sick and tired of the powers that be using her as a chess piece. People only wanted her for what she was and how they could weaponize her which was crap because she was also the best friend anyone could ask for, especially a dude like him. She deserved so much better than she'd ever gotten and now she was here.
But so was he so no matter what, he was going to look out for her. Josh had already lost her once and he refused to ever go through that again. No matter what, he was going first this time.
When the door to her apartment cracked open and he got a glimpse of her dark eyes and dark hair, he found himself grinning ear-to-ear. Pushing it open with a dramatic flair, he moved in within the blink of an eye and grabbed her up in a hug. Lifting her off of her feet, he squeezed her tightly for a long ass moment before finally setting her back down.
"I'm here now." He reassured her, still holding on to her forearms with his hands.
