Claire had figured that as long as she stayed busy she wouldn't have to think about the things that were troubling her. It wasn't that she had died. She'd died plenty of times before. It was that so much time had passed. It was that she'd had to die at all, that any of them had. But it turned out it was all a sick game of these angels. Worst prank ever. She suspected she had fallen back into routine much easier than most people would have. The key to not worrying so much was keeping busy, which was easy to do with her job. She worked a lot. And she had a great roommate who was around her age. And she had Boone. She still had to make some more friends but for right now, she thought she was doing okay. Did she like being trapped? Of course not. But right now there was nothing she could do. It didn't make sense to drive herself insane over it. Her desire to get out of here had grown though. She'd seen Sylar. Or she thought she had. Since she hadn't seen him since, she figured that maybe she'd just been dreaming or something. There was no sign of him anywhere now. It did make her extra cautious, and she had posted on the network about him to warn any other powered people. But now it seemed like maybe she imagined him. Maybe not. Could they really trust anything here? Her conversation with Jenny was great to help her get her mind off of Sylar. Her roommate wanted to make her a dress, and Claire was excited to see what she could come up with. She left work just to get their drinks, and then went straight to the apartment. She was looking out for Sylar but so far he still hadn't shown up again. When she reached the apartment, she let herself in and put the drinks down on the counter. "Jenny?" Claire called. "I'm home." |
