This was California, so an earthquake wasn't exactly surprising. Still, Kara couldn't help thinking that there was some other more sinister reason for all of this. She would ponder and investigate that later. Right now, the city needed saving, even more so than usual. That was just about what Supergirl did best. So she didn't hesitate to get right out there in the action, as buildings and structures crumbled all around them. It even seemed that the apartment building had sustained some damage. There were people in the streets, screaming. There was blood and chaos everywhere. This was a big job even for the Girl of Steel. How she wished Barry was still there, as he could have been a big help during all of this. But she knew Cisco and Ollie were probably out there helping as they could too. Most of the people here were regular civilians and then there were the actual citizens of this city, they needed to be protected. Kara may not have been able to do anything about the angels right now, but she could do something about the devastation that was all around them now. She flew to a building that was on the verge of collapsing on some people, holding up the debris so they could get out of harm's way. She flew all around the city, helping with all the disasters she could. She flew people who were seriously injured to the hospital. And pulled people out of collapsed buildings. She was very busy. There was no time for a break. She was Supergirl, and she was the only one. She couldn't afford to stop, not even for a moment. Not until the worst was over. And she was aware that there could likely be aftershocks too. So it was a busy day of saving people in the city, and trying to repair what she could, or at least make it safer. And she knew there were others out there helping to. Alex was probably one of them. Kara would definitely check in on her sister soon, but she also knew Alex could handle herself. She really was Kara's hero. She heard a shrill scream and took to the air again, trying to help whoever needed her now. And after the woman was safe, Kara landed in an alley to catch her breath and see what else needed to be done. |
