Mia gave him a knowing look. Suuure they were just here enjoying the party. Well, maybe Mason actually was. He did genuinely seem to be enjoying the brunette's company. But Eddie had that look in his eyes. That one where he could be looking right at you but you could still see his eyeballs shifting ever so slightly toward whatever was going on in his periphery.
It was the same look Rose had always had anytime she was anywhere near Lissa. Even when she was just a novice and a disgraced one at that she always acted like she was Kevin Costner and Lissa was Whitney Houston in that old movie The Bodyguard. And now Eddie had that same look. Hyper aware and ready to spring into action at any moment.
The sparkle left her eyes and they darkened considerably when he mentioned that there were Strigoi here. In a way, she was glad. It would give her something to kill do while she waited to get out of whatever this was they were trapped in now. Mia really wasn't interested in fighting any other war but the one that would avenge her mother's death.
"Wait," She said, stopping in her tracks for a minute. "Who is Jill?" That was a name she wasn't familiar with and Mia knew everyone who was anyone in their circle. So how did she not know this? She was apparently significant enough not only for a Strigoi to have attacked her but for Eddie to care about her well-being.
Absently, her gaze wandered back over to Mason who was kissing the brunette now. She couldn't help but smirk again considering she'd basically been willing to bet on that outcome.
"Guess he really did come here to enjoy the party," Mia murmured.
