After his brief conversation with Lissa, Adrian wandered back inside after his cigarette. His first destination was the bar of course, where the Moroi ordered his vodka on the rocks and he turned around, inspecting the good mix of a crowd. Of course, it mostly consisted of Jill's classmates, even the few who were down right assholes to her. Adrian wanted nothing more than to compel them to embarrass themselves. Perhaps Jill would find that to be a great birthday present, but he refrained. At least for now.
He moved away from the bar and started to walk the party, making sure the guests were having the time of their lives. He was speaking with a few of them when a flash of red caught his eyes and he looked over, seeing Sage walking toward the door and his heart nearly stopped.
Was she leaving? So soon?
He noticed she wasn't. Instead, she was leaning against the wall, sipping on what he assumed would be water but that dress ....
Adrian excused himself and began to walk toward her. His steps weren't urgent, but it looked as though he did have somewhere important to be. He was just thinking when he was speaking to Lissa that he would give Sage anything she wanted, much like he had Rose and perhaps that was a problem and right now, seeing her in that dress, he knew he would give her the world.
Holding onto his glass, he came to a stop in front of her as his eyes looked her over. Every inch of that fabric held her curves so well that it was like seeing her differently for the first time. Of course, that wasn't entirely true. There was that night when he broke up her date with Hayden or whatever the hell his name was.
"Why is a girl as beautiful as you hanging out by the door. You should be showing that dress off, right there in the middle of the dance floor," he told her, his eyes on hers then. It was no secret how he felt about her. He had tried to fight it, tried to talk himself out of it, but he couldn't.
Moving, he stood beside her, his back leaning against the wall as well then and he sipped on his drink. "Don't worry," he said then, looking at her. "I won't ask you to dance. Besides, we both know what your answer would be," he smiled. But she should. She should be out there, enjoying herself. Of course, knowing Sage, she was probably enjoying herself just fine before he came up to talk to her.
