Eddie was bummed out that Eve couldn't make it to the party. He was bummed out in general that she was on semi lock down until after the full moon just in case she turned into a slaywolf. Which even if she did, Eddie liked to think that she would be alright. From what he understood, Shannon was like a Strigoi now. That meant she had no soul but he thought werewolves still had souls.
He kept himself busy by playing guardian at Jill's party. He made a good show of enjoying himself, stopping chat with his friends here and there. But Eddie was very much on duty at all times, always aware of the entrance and exit points and of where Jill and Lissa were at all times. He wasn't alone though, Mason was taking up a position very close to Jill which left Eddie wandering around after Lissa and also keeping his other eye on all of his friends.
Eventually Rose appeared again and Eddie was reminded that he wasn't the only person on high alert at this party. And as he walked around, he noticed an old friend in the crowd. Eddie hadn't seen Mia Rinaldi in a long time but they had grown up together as classmates. Mia was cool even though she went through that really bitchy stage, but Eddie kind of figured all teenage girls did that at some point. It wasn't unusual and he really was glad to see her.
"Mia," he said as he approached, big old smile on his face. "It's really good to see you. It's been so long." He reached out and hugged her delicately. She wasn't helpless but she was Moroi so he was gentle with her. Besides, Mia in particular always looked so fragile.
Mia and Eddie had only drifted apart because of literal distance. Mia left school to go to court before the rest of them did. Eddie went through a lot after Mia left. But they would forever be bonded by their childhood and the horrible experience they went through together at the hands of the Strigoi.
