It was just another night in Best LA and Jewel was going through the motions. She hadn't seen Adrian as much and she figured that he finally found a purpose in Los Angeles. She missed the tips, that was for sure, but where he wasn't here, someone else was and Jewel's pockets remained filled. She was able to get herself a few guns, a few knives and she was starting to build her arsenal. A girl could never not be prepared. She carried it on her, but it was discreet and concealed. Of course, she didn't need a weapon, her body was the weapon but she just loved guns. The feel of them, the rush of them and she never used them if she didn't need them. She wasn't careless but she also wasn't stupid.
The night was wearing on though and the people who had been here for hours were finally clearing out. Jewel had a good handle on the place, but her fellow bartenders were starting to call it as they began to do the night work for the afternoon shift. She continued to make drinks until her customers were taken care of. One of her co-workers made a drink and pointed out to Jewel a man who was sitting in a booth by himself and had been for nearly two hours. She had noticed him, but he wasn't her customer. Beyond the fact that he didn't look threatening, she didn't give him a second glance.
Now, she was bringing his drink over and she set it down in front of him and took his older drink.
"If you need anything else, let me know," she told him, offering him a small smile, but he looked lost and probably just wanted to keep to himself as he had been. She left him alone and went back to work at the bar. As the night went on from there, he was still sitting there and she and her co-workers talked about him a little. Jewel didn't deal with emotions, she actually tried to refrain from them. They were distracting but she was voted to go and talk to him and she thought that was ridiculous but here she was, walking over to him.
"Can I get you anything else?" She asked and when he looked up at her, she realized that she had never seen blue eyes so deep before in her life. She tapped the table and looked back at the girls who were behind the counter watching. She brought her hand up to push some dark hair from her face, while flipping them off at the same before she sat down across from him.
"Did you get stood up or something?" She asked, being blunt. Raising her eyebrow, she looked at him and leaned in a little.
"Just a word of advice, this place as a date is bullshit anyway. I would have stood you up too," she said and then realized that wasn't helping anything. Because she served drinks and listened to people, she didn't exactly offer words of encouragement. She didn't know how to do that and it wasn't as if he was asking for that anyway.
