WHO: Darcy WHAT: Listening to her iPod/losing her soul WHEN: January 2nd @ 2 AM WHERE: Inside her apartment WARNINGS: None STATUS: Complete
After waking up in a strange apartment and reading over that even stranger text, Darcy felt that coffee was needed for her to deal with this situation. After all, coffee made everything better. Least that was her logic and no one was going to change that. But after talking with a few people and looking out her world she was certain of one thing. The city had lost their shit. People were fighting with each other side and from what she could see on the net we well. After talking with Damon for a bit, she felt it was better to stay in her apartment and let the craziness go on outside. What could go wrong?
So far, everything had gone smoothly, with the occasional banging on her door. Doing the one thing she could think of to block out the craziness, she came to slip on her headphones and get lost within her playlist. Instead of opting to go into the bedroom, she came to rest on the couch with her eyes closed. The music worked great in blocking out all the banging and screaming she heard outside. Which meant, it also blocked out the sound of her door being unlocked behind her. It blocked out the sound of her door being pushed open, and the following sound of bones cracking that echoed within the dark apartment.
Music had blocked everything out. Everything that would have warned her that someone, no that something was in her apartment. By the time she was aware of anything around her, it was too late. Coming to open her eyes, she would first see how this, things face was twisted against itself. It was as if she had lost her voice for that moment, unable to scream. Music bumping into her ears as she watched that disjointed hand reach out its hand and pressed it above her left breast resting over her heart. What came next, was a pain Darcy had never felt before.
She felt as if her blood was on fire, her body arched but no noise came from her mouth, just the physical pain that rushed through her. It wasn't long before everything around her started to go black, as her eyelids came heavy and it wasn't long after that, that she would pass out from pain.
She wasn't sure how long had passed. Slowly, her lids came open as blue eyes seem to have a greyer shade to them. Everything within her apartment was normal as if it was a bad dream. Slowly, she came to a stand and removed her headset. Still, even at this late hour, she would hear the chaos outside. Full lips slowly turned at the corners until that smile was present. Her hands resting on the railing of that balcony as she leaned over onto her elbows and came to simply, for the time being, enjoy the sounds and views of chaos down below.
