WHO: Bonnie, Silas and Amara WHAT: Bonnie solves all the problems~ WHEN: Backdated to around the weekend WHERE: Silas' apartment WARNINGS: None
The creation of the immortality elixir took more magical energy than she thought it was going to take. Bonnie was lucky to have Freya there, the added help giving Bonnie what she needed to combine her own blood with the rest of the ingredients, creating her own immortality elixir, one that would have the same effects as Qetsiyah’s. Once it was done Bonnie made the call. She made the choice to do it alone, not wanting to involve the others in case it didn’t work. Bonnie would have to suffer for it, to take on the brunt force of Silas’ punishment.
It didn’t take Bonnie long to find their apartment. She made the choice to do this at their place rather than bring Enzo into it. She needed him protected and throwing him into the lion’s den wasn’t how she wanted to start things off. Bonnie wanted to make sure everyone she cared about was far away when she forked over the elixir.
SIlas was nothing but smiles when he received Bonnie’s message. The little witch succeeded or else she was planning something devious. Of course Silas knew that he could read her mind if she was doing something stupid. Silas wouldn’t be thwarted so he made sure there were no other “wandering” minds around when Bonnie did arrive, his eyes narrowing when she actually showed up alone. No backup whatsoever.
“Interesting,” Silas said, his frame seated in the armchair that was furthest from the door, Amara practically in his lap as the pair regarded the witch, a descendant of Qetsiyah herself.
A quick read of Bonnie’s mind told Silas that she did in fact have the elixir. It was shocking but at the same time Silas’ threat was very real. All someone needed was the proper motivation. It pleased him to know that his words didn’t just get brushed under the rug.
“Hello,” Amara smiled, her body literally on Silas’ lap as they sat in the chair together. Amara was hardly ever away from Silas except when they worked or she shopped or he had business to tend to. She knew that Silas was a busy man and she also knew that he was doing everything he could to ensure that they would be safe in this world. The elixir was just another way for them to be together, to be powerful - together. Of course, Silas would always rule her, she was very old fashioned that way, but she did know that whatever she wanted, she would have. Silas would see to it.
Her fingertips grazed along the back of Silas’ neck as Bonnie closed the door behind her. She was Elena’s, her doppelganger’s best friend. Amara didn’t much care for her doppelgangers but Elena was more tolerable. She despised Katherine.
Was it true? Did Bonnie have the elixir that would give Amara immortality? One nod from Silas and Amara was on her feet, waiting patiently for Silas to get up so he could take it from her. She was visibly happy, through and through. She would be with her love forever. What was so wrong about that? She didn’t think of the complications or what could happen because of the change in balance. All she wanted was to be with him - once again.
“Hello,” Bonnie said, waving somewhat awkwardly as she regarded Amara, figuring that at this point she would be used to seeing the face of her best friend on someone else but no, it was always weird seeing Elena but as a completely different person. Amara’s mannerisms, the way she carried herself, it was very much her own. Bonnie had to remember that Amara was technically the first. The original and progenitor of the doppelganger line.
She didn’t know what sort of backlash the immortality elixir would have. Bonnie didn’t tie Amara to something sacred like some oak tree. It was Bonnie’s mystical energy alone, her bloodline that would power the liquid inside, blessing Amara with true immortality but also cursing her for all time. Bonnie almost wanted to smile, her mind, her thoughts, they were shrouded with other things. Silas wouldn’t be able to pierce through, at least not until it was too late.
“Here,” Bonnie held it out and she saw the weariness in Silas’ eyes, the second guessing because yes, this was too easy, Bonnie’s brow quirking. “You could sit me down and read my mind all you want. You know that I would do anything to protect my friends. The elixir is real. Amara will be immortal.”
“We’ll see,” Silas said, snatching the vial from Bonnie’s hand before turning to face his love. God, Silas couldn’t help the smile as he brushed his knuckles across Amara’s cheek, his eyes gazing, becoming lost. This was it. This was the moment that would change everything.
“Are you ready, my love?” Silas asked, uncorking the vial, Silas swallowing deeply before handing it to her.
Amara was happy. All she wanted was to be with Silas once again. No longer was she ill, hearing voices. Those had long passed. She wasn’t afraid anymore. Being here with Silas, living with him, having a life that they had wanted from the start - it took her demons away. She loved him so much. Every fiber of her being burned for the man in front of her. Nobody else could ever compare. It would be silly for them to try.
“For us, I am always ready.” She kissed the side of his mouth, feeling comfort in him before she looked down at the vial and took a breath. She remembered being so nervous the first time, not knowing what could happen. She didn’t trust Bonnie, but Silas would know if this was a mistake and so far, he had not stopped her. There was no possible way that Silas would ever do anything or agree to anything that would put her in danger.
“Thank you, Bonnie,” she said then, her eyes on the witch. Her thanks was genuine because she was really grateful for this moment. Everything would change for them.
“I love you.” She smiled and there was a hint of happiness in Silas’ gorgeous green eyes. Without another thought, Amara drank down the elixir, eager to be with her love for eternity.
Bonnie watched, her eyes on Amara as she drank down the elixir. She couldn’t explain what she felt. Relief, maybe. A weight lifting from Bonnie’s shoulders as she actually felt like she could breathe for once. A real breath of air as she regarded the pair, the two of them seemed so happy although it was going to be very short lived.
“I’m sorry,” she said, a genuine feeling but it had to be done. Bonnie knew that if she didn’t make the elixir than Silas would have probably killed all of them just because he was a monster. Bonnie saw the change in Silas’ face but Bonnie took several steps back, stepping behind the entrance of Silas’ apartment.
“Opsideo.”
Silas had moved forward, his mind catching a few words from the witch but he was too late, his body running into a barrier, one that blocked not only his telepathy but he couldn’t reach Bonnie’s mind. A boundary spell. One that obviously wouldn’t last because no boundary spell could, at least not for long.
“What did you do?” Silas asked, his eyes on the Bennett witch, knowing that this, all of it, it was planned.
“What did I do?” Bonnie asked, no longer afraid because she had Silas and Amara where she wanted them, trapped and at her mercy. “You threatened my friends. I knew that if I didn’t do what you asked you would have killed Damon. You probably still would have even with the elixir. I know what you want and that’s power. It’s all you’re ever going to want so I added something to the immortality spell. A reverse sire line link but for Amara’s doppelgangers. If anything happens to Elena or Katherine then Amara dies.”
Bonnie could see the shock in Silas’ face, the betrayal and the realization that he not only made Amara immortal but placed her life in the hands of her pretenders. Bonnie’s eyes fell to her, not one bit apologetic because she had chosen this man, this psychopath to be the love of her life.
“And you can’t undo it. Even if you gave Amara the cure for immortality the link still sticks. It’s done so I guess that makes us about square, don’t you think?” Bonnie tilted her head, her eyes on Silas who was still speechless.
Amara easily drank down the elixir, all of her trust in Silas because he would never put her in a position where she would have to fear for anything. Except he had. Amara stood there, listening to the witch’s words. She was so proud of herself, standing outside of a barrier where her love could not reach her. Amara could not help but be emotional. She was terrified now - all over again as she looked to Silas to fix this. Could he? Would he? She did not know and that made her more fearful.
She had gotten caught in the middle of his power play and all she wanted was to be with her love forever. Of course, that did not mean Amara wouldn’t have been wicked - she would have been but when it came to her heart, she was softer. She was a girl in love. The man beside her was not a monster, not like they said. He was a man in love and he was a man who would do anything to be by Amara’s side. If only they could understand and feel a love as strong as theirs.
“You punish me to get to him. You petty fool,” Amara said easily, her eyes on Bonnie as she came to stand beside Silas. Because she would always stand beside him matter what. She wished for Silas to kill the witch where she stood but she looked at him, wondering what he would say to her, what he would do. Would he submit? It would be a first and Amara wanted to know if this is what it would take for the man who was so powerful beside her to give up.
“I will destroy you. I will destroy you and everyone you care about-” Silas rushed Bonnie, growling deeply when he nearly hit the barrier, his forehead pressed against it as he eyed the witch. Bonnie lifted a finger and almost at once Silas felt pain, a splitting headache ripping through his cranium. It wasn’t that painful, more of a annoyance as Silas was too old to be throttled by a simple pain infliction spell, his body healing too fast for Bonnie to do any sort of damage.
“No, you won’t. I know you, Silas. You’ve spent the majority of your time trying to find Amara when you came back the first time. You thought if you destroyed the anchor to the Other Side you would be able to kill yourself to finally be reunited with your true love. Funny how the anchor was actually Amara. Something I’m sure you don’t remember.” But Bonnie didn’t have time to chit chat about the future. Bonnie could only smile as she stepped away, watching Silas as he watched her move down the hall.
“I gave you what you wanted. An eternity with Amara. Don’t waste it.” And with that Bonnie was gone, not even trying to hide the smirk on her face.
