Who: Regulus & Valkyrie When: Backdated: Sunday. All day. Hello. (I'm a failure ♥) Where: Valkyries cave (ba-dum tss) What: Passing the time Rating: I'm going to go ahead and assume high
As frustrating as it had been to have something as important as free will dismissed, there were perks to becoming responsible for finding the crack where it hid. Regulus now had every excusable reason to be poking around anywhere in this village and at any time, which was convenient when one was looking for a place with optimised privacy.
For the past two mornings since, Regulus used his runs to wander further than he had before, heading up through the mountains before most in their little village were even awake. He'd noted the cleverly placed traps along the way, committing them to memory for the sake of ease, while finding himself disappointed by how small and useless they were for what he would have wanted to abuse them for. How convenient it would have been to have had Pettigrew fall into a trap and take care of himself. A service, surely. But as they were, he was going to need something else. Advantageous enough, he came across the caves where he spent a fair amount of time assessing them for patterns on the chance that one of them could seemingly disappear without note.
Regulus had chosen one that morning, and began filling it with the defensive charms his father had taught him to protect their family home. A great number of them were advanced enough to be quite taxing on him, leaving him to pick and choose which were the most apposite in the event that they caught up to their missing project before its was fully ready, before he needed to let it be and recoup. By the time that occurred the black clouds had nearly consumed the village, something that may have been a lot more concerning had he not spent six years chasing a golden ball through rainstorms. If it got too bad, he could always appariate back to his living arrangements.
It was building to just about that point when he spotted a woman he could have easily assumed he'd imagined with all that happened in the castle. She was tending to the traps, which helped tie her to the spitfire that had amused him in the mudbloods redundant entry, while also leaving just enough mystery behind to intrigue him forward. "Do you require any assistance before this storm hits?"
