The Masque |
Beginning at dusk on October 31st, the faeries will become rather insistent that everyone be putting on their costumes. Should any of the villagers not be home as the sun starts to set, the faeries will try to direct them there, or desperately try to bring the costumes to them to change. If the villagers do comply, they will be led to the town center by these insistent little creatures. Even when you try to push them away. As always, small bonfires will lead the way to the center of the town. That space where those faeries had been digging for some reason -- it's now a large bonfire, its flames bewitched to turn colors and take the shapes of dancing figures. Jack-o-lanterns litter the town providing decoration, and the faeries themselves will hover about glowing softly for added ambiance. Some of them have even taken it upon themselves to enchant the nearby skeletons to play splendid music, rather than the racket created by Mr Tonks's giving them instruments. Yet, just beyond the safety of the bonfires and decorations waits a line of figures waiting in the fog. Residents who try to leave before the Masque is over, will be snatched by the figures and taken to the nightmare house. Even those that hover maybe a little too close to the edge of the party might fall prey to them. At midnight, the faeries will begin to slowly disappear one by one, as the figures in the fog begin to vanish into the murky blackness until the villagers are left alone in the town square with a bonfire and carved pumpkins as even the fog starts to lift. All but Regulus Black, who will disappear with the fog. Please remember that if your character does not attend the masque, they will be forcibly taken to the nightmare house. |
