"Thank you for your time," Matt smiled at the elf, and went willingly when Lillie drew him away. Not exactly a dead end - when you had nothing, even scraps were something, and the appointment door was a little more than a scrap.
"That worked out well," he added quietly to Lillie when they were alone again, his smile crooked, eyes crinkling and obviously pleased. The side doors would present him very little challenge, he was sure, and there were likely offices of the higher-up Chantry members on the other side. Offices held knowledge, knowledge worth thousands of coins in the right hands - and, though Matt was not here to fatten his coffers on Chantry secrets, the thrill of the hunt was a welcome feeling nonetheless. "We can stay for Mass, if you like. I know you want to see it, and it couldn't hurt." Matt grinned like the boy he was when they first met.
